MCDA and Normendale College Present the 2023 Spring Conference! 

The Spring Conference planning committee is glad to announce that the MCDA Spring Conference 2023 will return to an “in-person” format on Friday, April 21 from 8am - 430pm at Normandale Community College. The Conference theme for 2023 is, "Finding Purpose in an Ever-Changing World."  

The morning keynote speaker is Ken Barr Jr, a Gallup Certified Strengths Coach and author of the book, Turning Talents into Strengths: Stories of Coaching Transformation. In addition to being a Strengths Coach, he is also a licensed professional counselor, career coach, and organizational consultant.  Currently he works with groups and professionals in HR, Talent Management, higher education, and career development and coaching. His interactive program will cover:

  • Gallup Wellbeing model that highlights career and purpose as the most important component; 

  • How to use the model and Strengths in working with clients to find purpose in their career planning;  

  • Ideas on how career development professionals can use the information when thinking about their own sense of purpose in their careers and work.

 

The afternoon keynote is Nick Alm, the Founder and CEO of Mossier. Nick will speak on the important work Mossier does with the LGBTQ community and employers to help employees design the way they want their workspaces to work for everyone.

 

There will additionally be break out sessions in the morning and afternoon and a general session.  Coffee and pastries will be provided in the morning during check in from 8:00 - 9:00 am and lunch will be served mid day.

REGISTRATION FEES & MEMBERSHIP OPTIONS:

    • Current MCDA Members - $59

    • Students, Retirees and Career Professionals in transition - $49

    • MCDA Non members - $89

    • Membership for MCDA  - Consider a Membership for MCDA

      • $70 Annually for Regular Membership

      • $35 for Graduate Students and Retirees

    • GREAT SAVINGS - if someone is not a member but becomes a member or renews prior to the conference, and registers for the conference their total cost for membership and the conference is  $70 + $59 = $129 (a $30 saving on membership fee) 

    • If a person becomes a member as a retiree, student or professional in transition, their total cost for membership and conference is $35 + $49 = $84

    • All payments must be made via credit card
